Congratulations, you have a job
Well, if you don't have, it means you don't need a job and haven't applied. If you applied and weren't selected, chances are that a poor resume is part of the reasons you weren't selected.
What is a resume?
Your resume is the most important tool in your job search. It is a document that includes information about your background and qualifications and should communicate the most important, relevant information about you to employers in a clear, easy-to-read format. The goal is to quickly communicate why you are uniquely qualified for the position based on your skills and experiences.
So, how do you write your resume?
1. Pick out a resume format. A format is the way you want your resume to appear. We have three different resume formats which are skill-based (for student/recent graduates), reverse chronological(for mid professionals), and combination resume format(for senior professionals. So make your pick.
2. Pick a resume layout. The layout is the design your resume would appear in. Thanks to the internet, we have so many free resume templates or builders you can use to design your resume. You can even ditch a template and make a video of your resume. However, that will work if you're in a creative industry.
3. Fill in your resume information. These include your contact information, professional resume summary or objective, Work experience(and achievements), and Education. The optional sections are languages, publications, hobbies, etc.
4. Proofread and download your resume.
